This is a tribute to the Italian southern traditional music. Canto Antico arranges this traditional tune focusing on the idea where women could be so strong to the point where they don’t give up their dreams; even if the spring fades.
The traditional tune is “La Gallinella” or “The little hen” recorded by Alan Lomax and performed by Pingitore Sisters in Feroleto Antico (Catanzaro, Italy) August 5, 1954.

This is a modern interpretation of a traditional pizzica. The hypnotic rhythm of this ball tells the story of the melanchonic consequences of the tarantata (the feeling of the girl bited by the tarantula), a very fragile human dimension that nowaday is like the loneliness in the global society.
